911 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1012 SECTION 1. Section 85.072, Election Code, is amended by
1113 adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1214 (f) The early voting clerk shall provide a current copy of
1315 the register for posting on the Internet website of the authority
1416 ordering the election, if the authority maintains a website, each
1517 day early voting is conducted. At a minimum, the voter registration
1618 number for each voter listed in the register must be posted.
1719 SECTION 2. Section 87.121, Election Code, is amended by
1820 amending Subsections (g) and (h) and adding Subsections (i) and (j)
1921 to read as follows:
2022 (g) Information on the roster for a person who votes an
2123 early voting ballot by personal appearance shall be made available
2224 for public inspection not later than the beginning of regular
2325 business hours on the day after the date the information is entered
2426 on the roster under Subsection (c). On the request of a person, the
2527 early voting clerk shall provide a copy of the roster in a paper or
2628 an electronic format.
2729 (h) Information on the roster for a person who votes an
2830 early voting ballot by mail shall be made available for public
2931 inspection not later than the day following the day the early voting
3032 clerk receives a ballot voted by mail. On the request of a person,
3133 the early voting clerk shall provide a copy of the roster in a paper
3234 or an electronic format.
3335 (i) A person commits an offense if the person:
3436 (1) is responsible for maintaining the roster under
3537 this section; and
3638 (2) fails to provide information on or a copy of the
3739 roster under Subsection (g) or (h).
3840 (j) An offense under Subsection (i) is a Class C
3941 misdemeanor.
4042 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
