| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 2210.203, Insurance Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a-2) Notwithstanding Subsection (a-1), the association may | |
| 13 | 13 | not require as a condition for issuing or renewing an insurance | |
| 14 | 14 | policy for a residential property that the applicant provide | |
| 15 | 15 | evidence that the property is covered by a flood insurance policy. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 17 | 17 | to an application for initial insurance coverage or a renewal of | |
| 18 | 18 | insurance coverage submitted to the Texas Windstorm Insurance | |
| 19 | 19 | Association on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
