410 AN ACT
511 relating to the confidentiality of certain personal information of
612 an applicant for disaster recovery funds.
713 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
814 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is
915 amended by adding Section 552.160 to read as follows:
1016 Sec. 552.160. CONFIDENTIALITY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION OF
1117 APPLICANT FOR DISASTER RECOVERY FUNDS. (a) In this section,
1218 "disaster" has the meaning assigned by Section 418.004.
1319 (b) Except as provided by Subsection (c), the following
1420 information maintained by a governmental body is confidential:
1521 (1) the name, social security number, house number,
1622 street name, and telephone number of an individual or household
1723 that applies for state or federal disaster recovery funds;
1824 (2) the name, tax identification number, address, and
1925 telephone number of a business entity or an owner of a business
2026 entity that applies for state or federal disaster recovery funds;
2127 and
2228 (3) any other information the disclosure of which
2329 would identify or tend to identify a person or household that
2430 applies for state or federal disaster recovery funds.
2531 (c) The street name and census block group of and the amount
2632 of disaster recovery funds awarded to a person or household are not
2733 confidential after the date on which disaster recovery funds are
2834 awarded to the person or household.
2935 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
