10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 1, Article 42.03, Code of Criminal | |
11 | 11 | Procedure, is amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (c) The court may not impose a limit on the number of | |
13 | 13 | victims, close relatives, or guardians who may appear and present | |
14 | 14 | statements under Subsection (b) unless the court finds that | |
15 | 15 | additional statements would unreasonably delay the proceeding. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to a | |
17 | 17 | defendant who is sentenced for an offense on or after the effective | |
18 | 18 | date of this Act, regardless of whether the offense is committed | |
19 | 19 | before, on, or after the effective date of this Act. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
