7 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
8 | 8 | SECTION 1. Section 22.06(a), Alcoholic Beverage Code, is | |
9 | 9 | amended to read as follows: | |
10 | 10 | (a) Except as otherwise provided in Section 102.05 of this | |
11 | 11 | code and in Subsection (b) of this section, no person who holds a | |
12 | 12 | package store permit or owns an interest in a package store may have | |
13 | 13 | a direct or indirect interest in any of the following: | |
14 | 14 | (1) a manufacturer's, retail dealer's on-premise, or | |
15 | 15 | general, branch, or local distributor's license; | |
16 | 16 | (2) a wine and beer retailer's, wine and beer | |
17 | 17 | retailer's off-premise, wine only package store, | |
18 | 18 | or mixed beverage | |
19 | 19 | permit; or | |
20 | 20 | (3) the business of any of the permits or licenses | |
21 | 21 | listed in Subdivisions (1) and (2) of this subsection. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. Section 22.06(a), Alcoholic Beverage Code, as | |
23 | 23 | amended by this act, shall not apply with regard to a wine only | |
24 | 24 | package store permit which was held by a package store permittee on | |
25 | 25 | September 1, 2019. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
