55 AN ACT
66 relating to package store permits.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 22.06(a), Alcoholic Beverage Code, is
99 amended to read as follows:
1010 (a) Except as otherwise provided in Section 102.05 of this
1111 code and in Subsection (b) of this section, no person who holds a
1212 package store permit or owns an interest in a package store may have
1313 a direct or indirect interest in any of the following:
1414 (1) a manufacturer's, retail dealer's on-premise, or
1515 general, branch, or local distributor's license;
1616 (2) a wine and beer retailer's, wine and beer
1717 retailer's off-premise, wine only package store,
1818 or mixed beverage
1919 permit; or
2020 (3) the business of any of the permits or licenses
2121 listed in Subdivisions (1) and (2) of this subsection.
2222 SECTION 2. Section 22.06(a), Alcoholic Beverage Code, as
2323 amended by this act, shall not apply with regard to a wine only
2424 package store permit which was held by a package store permittee on
2525 September 1, 2019.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
