9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 26.006(a), Government Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (a) A county judge is entitled to an annual salary | |
13 | 13 | supplement from the state in an amount equal to 25 [18] percent of | |
14 | 14 | the annual compensation provided for a district judge in the | |
15 | 15 | General Appropriations Act if at least 40 percent of the functions | |
16 | 16 | that the judge performs are judicial functions. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act takes effect | |
18 | 18 | on the effective date of this Act and applies only to a salary | |
19 | 19 | payment for a pay period beginning on or after that date. A salary | |
20 | 20 | payment for a pay period beginning before the effective date of this | |
21 | 21 | Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the pay period | |
22 | 22 | began, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
