| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 418, Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 418.054 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 418.054. PERMITTING TASK FORCE. (a) The division | |
| 13 | 13 | shall form a task force with representatives from the General Land | |
| 14 | 14 | Office, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Parks and | |
| 15 | 15 | Wildlife Department, and Texas Historical Commission to be | |
| 16 | 16 | activated if a state of disaster is declared under Section 418.014 | |
| 17 | 17 | because of weather conditions to expedite: | |
| 18 | 18 | (1) environmental permitting; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) access to funds from federal disaster relief | |
| 20 | 20 | programs following the disaster. | |
| 21 | 21 | (b) The task force formed under this section shall establish | |
| 22 | 22 | procedures for expediting the evaluation of environmental permits | |
| 23 | 23 | during disaster recovery in order for local entities to demonstrate | |
| 24 | 24 | compliance with regulations and access federal disaster relief | |
| 25 | 25 | programs and funding. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
