9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 13, Education Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 13.232 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 13.232. SUBDIVISION BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT. The | |
13 | 13 | commissioner by rule shall adopt procedures for school districts to | |
14 | 14 | adjust boundaries to ensure that all homes in a particular | |
15 | 15 | residential subdivision are included in the same district. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | |
17 | 17 | of this Act, the commissioner of education shall adopt procedures | |
18 | 18 | as necessary to implement Section 13.232, Education Code, as added | |
19 | 19 | by this Act. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
