| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Sections 1301.255(a) and (b), Occupations Code, |

| 11 | 11 | | are amended to read as follows: |

| 12 | 12 | | (a) The board shall adopt [the following plumbing codes, as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | those codes existed on May 31, 2001: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | [(1) the Uniform Plumbing Code, as published by the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | [(2)] the 2015 edition of the International Plumbing |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Code, as published by the International Code Council. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (b) The board by rule may adopt a later edition [editions] |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of the plumbing code [codes] listed in Subsection (a). |

| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2019, the Texas State |

| 22 | 22 | | Board of Plumbing Examiners shall adopt rules to implement Section |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | 1301.255, Occupations Code, as amended by this Act. |

| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
