9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Chapter 170, Local Government Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | by adding Section 170.002 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 170.002. CODE OF ETHICS FOR COMMISSIONERS COURT. The | |
13 | 13 | commissioners court of a county may adopt by order a code of ethics | |
14 | 14 | that provides standards of conduct for members of the commissioners | |
15 | 15 | court. If a commissioners court adopts a code of ethics under this | |
16 | 16 | section, the code of ethics must require each member of the | |
17 | 17 | commissioners court to file a conflicts disclosure statement that | |
18 | 18 | is in addition to the statement required by Section 176.003. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
