410 AN ACT
511 relating to submission of reports by an advanced practice
612 registered nurse under the workers' compensation system.
713 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
814 SECTION 1. Section 408.025(a-1), Labor Code, is amended to
915 read as follows:
1016 (a-1) A treating doctor may delegate to a physician
1117 assistant who is licensed to practice in this state under Chapter
1218 204, Occupations Code, or an advanced practice registered nurse who
1319 is licensed to practice in this state under Chapter 301,
1420 Occupations Code, the authority to complete and sign a work status
1521 report regarding an injured employee's ability to return to
1622 work. The delegating treating doctor is responsible for the acts
1723 of the physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse
1824 under this subsection.
1925 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
