| 6 | 12 | | information law for certain personal information obtained by |

| 8 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | amended by adding Section 552.159 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | Sec. 552.159. EXCEPTION: CERTAIN PERSONAL INFORMATION |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | OBTAINED BY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT. The following information |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | obtained by a flood control district located in a county with a |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | population of 3.3 million or more in connection with operations |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | related to a declared disaster or flooding is excepted from the |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | requirements of Section 552.021: |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | (1) a person's name; |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | (2) a home address; |
|---|
| 19 | 25 | | (3) a business address; |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | (4) a home telephone number; |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | (5) a mobile telephone number; |
|---|
| 22 | 28 | | (6) an electronic mail address; |
|---|
| 23 | 29 | | (7) social media account information; and |
|---|
| 24 | 30 | | (8) a social security number. |

| 25 | 31 | | SECTION 2. Section 552.159, Government Code, as added by |
|---|
| 26 | 32 | | this Act, applies only to a request for public information received |
|---|
| 27 | 33 | | on or after the effective date of this Act. A request received |
|---|
| 28 | 34 | | before that date is governed by the law in effect when the request |
|---|
| 29 | 35 | | was received, and the former law is continued in effect for that |
|---|
| 30 | 36 | | purpose. |

| 31 | 37 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
