8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 571.003(15), Health and Safety Code, is | |
10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (15) "Non-physician mental health professional" | |
12 | 12 | means: | |
13 | 13 | (A) a psychologist licensed to practice in this | |
14 | 14 | state and designated as a health-service provider; | |
15 | 15 | (B) a registered nurse with a master's or | |
16 | 16 | doctoral degree in psychiatric nursing; | |
17 | 17 | (C) a licensed clinical social worker; | |
18 | 18 | (D) a licensed professional counselor licensed | |
19 | 19 | to practice in this state; [or] | |
20 | 20 | (E) a licensed marriage and family therapist | |
21 | 21 | licensed to practice in this state; or | |
22 | 22 | (F) a licensed physician assistant. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
