5	5	A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
6	6	AN ACT
7	7	relating to the imposition of a supplemental court security fee on
8	8	conviction of certain criminal offenses.
9	9	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
10	10	SECTION 1. Article 102.017, Code of Criminal Procedure, is
11	11	amended by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows:
12	12	(c-1) In addition to any other fee paid under this article,
13	13	a defendant whose sentence on conviction of a misdemeanor or felony
14	14	offense includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1
15	15	supplemental security fee as a cost of court.
16	16	SECTION 2. Subchapter B, Chapter 102, Government Code, is
17	17	amended by adding Section 102.02105 to read as follows:
18	18	Sec. 102.02105. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY FEE: CODE OF CRIMINAL
19	19	PROCEDURE. A defendant whose sentence on conviction of an offense
20	20	includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1 supplemental
21	21	security fee as a cost of court under Article 102.017, Code of
22	22	Criminal Procedure.
23	23	SECTION 3. Subchapter C, Chapter 102, Government Code, is
24	24	amended by adding Section 102.0411 to read as follows:
25	25	Sec. 102.0411. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY FEE: CODE OF CRIMINAL
26	26	PROCEDURE. A defendant whose sentence on conviction of an offense
27	27	includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1 supplemental
28	28	security fee as a cost of court under Article 102.017, Code of
29	29	Criminal Procedure.
30	30	SECTION 4. Subchapter D, Chapter 102, Government Code, is
31	31	amended by adding Section 102.06105 to read as follows:
32	32	Sec. 102.06105. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY FEE: CODE OF CRIMINAL
33	33	PROCEDURE. A defendant whose sentence on conviction of an offense
34	34	includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1 supplemental
35	35	security fee as a cost of court under Article 102.017, Code of
36	36	Criminal Procedure.
37	37	SECTION 5. Subchapter E, Chapter 102, Government Code, is
38	38	amended by adding Section 102.0811 to read as follows:
39	39	Sec. 102.0811. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY FEE: CODE OF CRIMINAL
40	40	PROCEDURE. A defendant whose sentence on conviction of an offense
41	41	includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1 supplemental
42	42	security fee as a cost of court under Article 102.017, Code of
43	43	Criminal Procedure.
44	44	SECTION 6. Subchapter F, Chapter 102, Government Code, is
45	45	amended by adding Section 102.1011 to read as follows:
46	46	Sec. 102.1011. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY FEE: CODE OF CRIMINAL
47	47	PROCEDURE. A defendant whose sentence on conviction of an offense
48	48	includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1 supplemental
49	49	security fee as a cost of court under Article 102.017, Code of
50	50	Criminal Procedure.
51	51	SECTION 7. Subchapter G, Chapter 102, Government Code, is
52	52	amended by adding Section 102.122 to read as follows:
53	53	Sec. 102.122. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY FEE: CODE OF CRIMINAL
54	54	PROCEDURE. A defendant whose sentence on conviction of an offense
55	55	includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1 supplemental
56	56	security fee as a cost of court under Article 102.017, Code of
57	57	Criminal Procedure.
58	58	SECTION 8. Subchapter H, Chapter 102, Government Code, is
59	59	amended by adding Section 102.1411 to read as follows:
60	60	Sec. 102.1411. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY FEE: CODE OF CRIMINAL
61	61	PROCEDURE. A defendant whose sentence on conviction of an offense
62	62	includes the imposition of a fine shall pay a $1 supplemental
63	63	security fee as a cost of court under Article 102.017, Code of
64	64	Criminal Procedure.
65	65	SECTION 9. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
