| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 521.165(c), Transportation Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (c) In [Except as provided by Subsection (d), in] issuing a | |
| 12 | 12 | driver's license for certain types of vehicles, the director may | |
| 13 | 13 | waive a driving test for an applicant who has successfully | |
| 14 | 14 | completed and passed the training and testing conducted by a person | |
| 15 | 15 | certified under Subsection (a). | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 521.165(d), Transportation Code, is | |
| 17 | 17 | repealed. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 19 | 19 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 20 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
