| 13 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 253.008, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 14 | 12 | by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (e) to read as | |
| 15 | 13 | follows: | |
| 16 | 14 | (b) Except as provided by Subsection (d) or (e), the | |
| 17 | 15 | commissioners court may not require the payment of interest on an | |
| 18 | 16 | assessment. | |
| 19 | 17 | (e) The Commissioners Court of Bastrop County may require | |
| 20 | - | the payment of interest on an assessment at the rate determined | |
| 21 | - | under Section 304.003, Finance Code. | |

| 22 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 23 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
