10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 42, Education Code, is | |
12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 42.169 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 42.169. ALLOTMENT FOR STUDENTS WITH INCARCERATED | |
14 | 14 | PARENT. For each student who has a parent or legal guardian who has | |
15 | 15 | been incarcerated in a penal institution, as defined by Section | |
16 | 16 | 1.07, Penal Code, during the school year for which the allotment is | |
17 | 17 | provided, a school district is entitled to an annual allotment | |
18 | 18 | equal to the district's adjusted basic allotment multiplied by 1.1. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
