| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 153, Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 153.017 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 153.017. GLAUCOMA COMANAGEMENT REGISTRY. (a) The |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | board shall: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (1) establish and maintain a registry of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | ophthalmologists engaged in the comanagement of patients with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | therapeutic optometrists under Section 351.3581; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (2) make the registry available to the public through |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | a link on the board's Internet website. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (b) The registry must be searchable by: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) the name of the ophthalmologist; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (2) the name of the therapeutic optometrist; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (3) the county that an ophthalmologist in the registry |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | lists as a primary practice location. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (c) An ophthalmologist engaged in the comanagement of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | patients under Section 351.3581 shall provide to the board the name |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | of each therapeutic optometrist with whom the ophthalmologist is |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | comanaging patients for inclusion in the comanagement registry |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | maintained under this section. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (d) The board shall establish procedures to allow an |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | ophthalmologist who provides information for inclusion in the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | comanagement registry maintained under this section to update the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | information through the registry's Internet website. The board |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | shall require the ophthalmologist to update the information at |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | least annually. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | SECTION 2. Not later than March 1, 2020, the Texas Medical |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Board shall establish the registry required by Section 153.017, |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Occupations Code, as added by this Act. |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
