7 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

8 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 772.001, Health and Safety Code, is |
---|
9 | 15 | | amended by adding Subdivision (4-a) to read as follows: |
---|
10 | 16 | | (4-a) "Emergency services district" means an |
---|
11 | 17 | | emergency services district created under Chapter 775. |
---|
12 | 18 | | SECTION 2. Section 772.112(b), Health and Safety Code, is |
---|
13 | 19 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
14 | 20 | | (b) A public safety answering point may transmit emergency |
---|
15 | 21 | | response requests to private safety entities, with the approval of |
---|
16 | 22 | | the board and the consent of each participating jurisdiction and |
---|
17 | 23 | | emergency services district serving the relevant area. A |
---|
18 | 24 | | participating jurisdiction's or emergency services district's |
---|
19 | 25 | | consent may be withdrawn at any time. |

20 | 26 | | SECTION 3. Section 772.212(b), Health and Safety Code, is |
---|
21 | 27 | | amended to read as follows: |
---|
22 | 28 | | (b) A public safety answering point may transmit emergency |
---|
23 | 29 | | response requests to private safety entities, with the approval of |
---|
24 | 30 | | the board and the consent of each [the] participating jurisdiction |
---|
25 | 31 | | and emergency services district serving the relevant area. A |
---|
26 | 32 | | participating jurisdiction's or emergency services district's |
---|
27 | 33 | | consent may be withdrawn at any time. |

28 | 34 | | SECTION 4. Section 772.312(b), Health and Safety Code, is |
---|
29 | 35 | | amended to read as follows: |

44 | 50 | | SECTION 6. Section 772.614(b), Health and Safety Code, is |

45 | 51 | | amended to read as follows: |

46 | 52 | | (b) A public safety answering point may transmit emergency |
---|
47 | 53 | | response requests to private safety entities, with the [board's] |
---|
48 | 54 | | approval of the board and the consent of each participating |
---|
49 | 55 | | jurisdiction and emergency services district serving the relevant |
---|
50 | 56 | | area. A participating jurisdiction's or emergency services |
---|
51 | 57 | | district's consent may be withdrawn at any time. |
---|
52 | 58 | | SECTION 7. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
53 | 59 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
54 | 60 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
55 | 61 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
56 | 62 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
