11 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 315.002, Labor Code, is amended by | |
13 | 14 | adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
14 | 15 | (b-1) For an individual who is 21 years of age or older, the | |
15 | 16 | commission shall pay the cost of taking one complete high school | |
16 | 17 | equivalency examination administered under Section 7.111, | |
17 | 18 | Education Code, and made available by a test vendor approved and | |
18 | 19 | contracted by the State Board of Education, including an | |
19 | 20 | examination that is administered in multiple parts. | |
20 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
