| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 201, Transportation Code, | |
| 12 | 12 | is amended by adding Section 201.407 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 201.407. TRAINING ON SMUGGLING AND TRAFFICKING OF | |
| 14 | 14 | PERSONS. (a) The department shall develop and make available to | |
| 15 | 15 | employees of the department a training course on the recognition | |
| 16 | 16 | and prevention of smuggling and trafficking of persons. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) The department, in collaboration with the office of the | |
| 18 | 18 | attorney general, shall establish the content of the training | |
| 19 | 19 | developed under Subsection (a). | |
| 20 | 20 | (c) On the date an employee begins employment with the | |
| 21 | 21 | department, the department shall provide notice to the employee of | |
| 22 | 22 | the availability of the training developed under Subsection (a). | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
