9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 434.352(b), Government Code, is amended |
---|
11 | 11 | | to read as follows: |
---|
12 | 12 | | (b) For the mental health program for veterans, the |
---|
13 | 13 | | commission shall: |
---|
14 | 14 | | (1) provide training to peer service coordinators and |
---|
15 | 15 | | peers in accordance with Section 434.353; |
---|
16 | 16 | | (2) provide technical assistance to peer service |
---|
17 | 17 | | coordinators and peers; |
---|
18 | 18 | | (3) identify, train, and communicate with |
---|
19 | 19 | | community-based licensed mental health professionals, |
---|
20 | 20 | | community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations; |
---|
21 | 21 | | [and] |
---|
22 | 22 | | (4) coordinate services for justice involved |
---|
23 | 23 | | veterans; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | (5) employ and train mental health professionals to |
---|
25 | 25 | | assist the Department of State Health Services in the |
---|
26 | 26 | | administration of the program. |
---|
27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
