411 AN ACT
512 relating to municipal control of coyotes.
613 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
714 SECTION 1. Chapter 825, Health and Safety Code, is amended
815 by adding Subchapter D to read as follows:
916 SUBCHAPTER D. CONTROL OF PREDATORY ANIMALS
1017 Sec. 825.051. MUNICIPAL CONTROL OF COYOTES. A municipality
1118 with a population density of more than 2,500 persons per square
1219 mile may capture, relocate, or euthanize a coyote located within
1320 the municipality or the municipality's extraterritorial
1421 jurisdiction. The municipality may request assistance from Texas
1522 Wildlife Services to capture, relocate, or euthanize a coyote.
1623 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1724 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1825 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1926 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2027 Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
