| 7 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Section 7907.001, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 9 | 15 | | Code, is amended by adding Subsection (1-a) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 16 | | (1-a) "City" means the City of Conroe, Texas. |
|---|
| 11 | 17 | | SECTION 2. Subchapter A, Chapter 7907, Special District |
|---|
| 12 | 18 | | Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 7907.007 to read as |
|---|
| 13 | 19 | | follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 20 | | Sec. 7907.007. EFFECT OF ANNEXATION. Notwithstanding any |
|---|
| 15 | 21 | | other law, if all or any part of the territory of the district is |
|---|
| 16 | 22 | | annexed by the city into the city's corporate limits, the district |
|---|
| 17 | 23 | | retains all of the district's outstanding debt and obligations and |
|---|
| 18 | 24 | | is not dissolved. |
|---|
| 19 | 25 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 20 | 26 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 21 | 27 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 22 | 28 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 23 | 29 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
