911 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1012 SECTION 1. Section 1602.354(c), Occupations Code, is
1113 amended to read as follows:
1214 (c) The commission shall require continuing education
1315 programs under this chapter to include information on:
1416 (1) activities commonly associated with human
1517 trafficking;
1618 (2) recognition of potential victims of human
1719 trafficking; [and]
1820 (3) methods for assisting victims of human
1921 trafficking, including how to report human trafficking; and
2022 (4) sexual assault and domestic violence awareness.
2123 SECTION 2. (a) Not later than March 1, 2020, the Texas
2224 Commission of Licensing and Regulation shall adopt rules to
2325 implement Section 1602.354(c), Occupations Code, as amended by this
2426 Act.
2527 (b) Section 1602.354(c), Occupations Code, as amended by
2628 this Act, and the rules adopted under Subsection (a) of this section
2729 apply only to a continuing education program provided on or after
2830 September 1, 2020. A continuing education program provided before
2931 that date is governed by the law in effect immediately before the
3032 effective date of this Act, and the former law is continued in
3133 effect for that purpose.
3234 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
