55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the amount of a tax imposed by the Sutton County
88 Underground Water Conservation District.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 8886.201(b), Special District Local
1111 Laws Code, as effective April 1, 2019, is amended to read as
1212 follows:
1313 (b) On approval of the majority of the voters in an election
1414 called for that purpose, the district may impose an ad valorem tax
1515 to pay the principal of and interest on bonds and to maintain the
1616 district. [The tax approved under this subsection may not exceed
1717 five cents on each $100 of assessed valuation.]
1818 SECTION 2. Section 8886.201(c), Special District Local
1919 Laws Code, as effective April 1, 2019, is repealed.
2020 SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
2121 introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
2222 Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
2323 copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
2424 officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
2525 under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
2626 Government Code.
2727 (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
2828 submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
2929 Environmental Quality.
3030 (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
3131 its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
3232 lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
3333 representatives within the required time.
3434 (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
3535 state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
3636 to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
3737 and accomplished.
3838 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
