| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 545.452(b), Transportation Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b) A political subdivision of this state or a state agency | |
| 13 | 13 | may not impose a franchise or other regulation related to the | |
| 14 | 14 | operation of: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) an automated motor vehicle, including an automated | |
| 16 | 16 | motor vehicle that is a neighborhood electric vehicle, as defined | |
| 17 | 17 | by Section 551.301; or | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) an automated driving system. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
