77 relating to certain complaints concerning the Texas Medical Board.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 154, Occupations Code, is
1010 amended by adding Section 154.0555 to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 154.0555. SUBMISSION OF CERTAIN COMPLAINTS TO
1212 LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEES. (a) The board shall submit to each
1313 standing committee of the legislature having primary jurisdiction
1414 over the board a copy of any complaint submitted to the board by a
1515 license holder regarding the board or an employee of the board,
1616 including a complaint regarding the manner in which the board has
1717 conducted an investigation of the license holder.
1818 (b) The board shall submit the complaint and any related
1919 information provided to the board not later than the 30th day after
2020 the date the board receives the complaint or information.
2121 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2222 to a complaint filed on or after the effective date of this Act. A
2323 complaint filed before the effective date of this Act is governed by
2424 the law in effect on the date the complaint was filed, and the
2525 former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
