| 7 | 13 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 8 | 14 | SECTION 1. Section 681.003(b), Transportation Code, is | |
| 9 | 15 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 10 | 16 | (b) An application for a disabled parking placard must be: | |
| 11 | 17 | (1) on a form furnished by the department; | |
| 12 | 18 | (2) submitted to the county assessor-collector of the | |
| 13 | 19 | county in which the person with the disability: | |
| 14 | 20 | (A) resides; or | |
| 15 | 21 | (B) [in which the applicant] is seeking medical | |
| 16 | 22 | treatment [if the applicant is not a resident of this state]; and | |
| 17 | 23 | (3) accompanied by a fee of $5 if the application is | |
| 18 | 24 | for a temporary placard. | |
| 19 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | |
