| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 130.0827(a), Education Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (a) Notwithstanding any other law, in addition to the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | members of the board of trustees of the Blinn Junior College |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | District elected or appointed under other provisions of this |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | subchapter, the commissioners court of each county in which a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | branch campus of the district with a student enrollment greater |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | than 10,000 is located shall appoint two members to serve on the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | district's board of trustees. If an advisory committee for a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | branch campus has been previously established, the members may |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | [must] be selected from the membership of the advisory committee. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. Section 130.0827(d), Education Code, is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | repealed. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
