9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Sections 42.153(a) and (b), Education Code, are | |
11 | 11 | amended to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (a) For each student in average daily attendance in a | |
13 | 13 | bilingual education or special language program under Subchapter B, | |
14 | 14 | Chapter 29, a district is entitled to an annual allotment equal to | |
15 | 15 | the adjusted basic allotment multiplied by 0.25 [0.1]. | |
16 | 16 | (b) Funds allocated under this section, other than an | |
17 | 17 | indirect cost allotment established under State Board of Education | |
18 | 18 | rule, which may not exceed 45 percent, must be used in providing | |
19 | 19 | bilingual education or special language programs under Subchapter | |
20 | 20 | B, Chapter 29, and must be accounted for under existing agency | |
21 | 21 | reporting and auditing procedures. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
