76 AN ACT
87 relating to the Medicaid eligibility of certain women after a
98 pregnancy.
109 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1110 SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended
1211 by adding Subsection (l-1) to read as follows:
1312 (l-1) The commission shall continue to provide medical
1413 assistance to a woman who is eligible for medical assistance for
1514 pregnant women for a period of not less than 12 months following the
1615 date the woman delivers or experiences an involuntary miscarriage.
1716 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
1817 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
1918 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2019 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2120 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2221 waiver or authorization is granted.
2322 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
