55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to certain criminal offenses involving protective
88 headgear requirements for motorcycle operators and passengers.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Sections 661.003(c), (c-1), (c-2), and (i),
1111 Transportation Code, are repealed.
1212 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
1313 to an offense committed on or after the effective date of this Act.
1414 An offense committed before the effective date of this Act is
1515 covered by the law in effect when the offense was committed, and the
1616 former law is continued in effect for that purpose. For purposes of
1717 this section, an offense was committed before the effective date of
1818 this Act if any element of the offense occurred before that date.
1919 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
