76 AN ACT
87 relating to the execution of a warrant issued for certain
98 individuals who violate a condition of release on parole or to
109 mandatory supervision.
1110 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1211 SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is
1312 amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows:
1413 Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF
1514 SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency
1615 shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to
1716 the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the
1817 super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a
1918 condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the
2019 electronic monitoring of the releasee.
2120 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2221 to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date
2322 of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective
2423 date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the
2524 warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for
2625 that purpose.
2726 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
