| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 814.103, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (c) to read as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), the standard |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service retirement annuity for service credited in the elected |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | class of membership for a person described by Section 812.002(a)(3) |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | is an amount equal to the number of years of service credit in that |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | class, times two percent of the state salary, excluding longevity |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | pay payable under Section 659.0445 and as adjusted from time to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | time, being paid a district judge. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (c) Except as provided by Subsection (b), the standard |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | service retirement annuity for service credited in the elected |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | class of membership for a person described by Section 812.002(a)(1) |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | or (2) is an amount equal to the number of years of service credit in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | that class, times two percent of the state salary being paid a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | district judge on August 31, 2019, excluding longevity pay payable |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | under Section 659.0445. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to the standard service retirement annuity for a person who retires |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | on or after September 1, 2019. A person who retires before the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | immediately before the effective date of this Act, and the former |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
