9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Article 56.06, Code of Criminal Procedure, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (c-1) A law enforcement agency described by Subsection (c) | |
13 | 13 | shall provide to the victim of an alleged sexual assault: | |
14 | 14 | (1) the standard information form for sexual assault | |
15 | 15 | survivors developed under Section 323.005(a), Health and Safety | |
16 | 16 | Code; and | |
17 | 17 | (2) oral notice that the forensic medical examination | |
18 | 18 | is provided at no cost to the victim. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. Article 56.065, Code of Criminal Procedure, is | |
20 | 20 | amended by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: | |
21 | 21 | (c-1) A health care facility described by Subsection (c) | |
22 | 22 | shall provide to the victim of an alleged sexual assault: | |
23 | 23 | (1) the standard information form for sexual assault | |
24 | 24 | survivors developed under Section 323.005(a), Health and Safety | |
25 | 25 | Code; and | |
26 | 26 | (2) oral notice that the forensic medical examination | |
27 | 27 | is provided at no cost to the victim. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
