77 relating to the calculation of charges for a gas utility customer

99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 104, Utilities Code, is
1111 amended by adding Section 104.2571 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 104.2571. ADJUSTMENT OF CHARGES ON DETECTION OF LEAK.
1313 (a) A gas distribution utility that detects a leak in the utility's
1414 distribution system shall recompute charges for customers not later
1515 than the 60th day after the date the leak was detected to ensure
1616 that the customers are not charged for gas that was not delivered as
1717 a result of the leak.
1818 (b) The regulatory authority may adopt rules necessary to
1919 implement this section.
2020 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
