9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 104, Utilities Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 104.2571 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 104.2571. ADJUSTMENT OF CHARGES ON DETECTION OF LEAK. | |
13 | 13 | (a) A gas distribution utility that detects a leak in the utility's | |
14 | 14 | distribution system shall recompute charges for customers not later | |
15 | 15 | than the 60th day after the date the leak was detected to ensure | |
16 | 16 | that the customers are not charged for gas that was not delivered as | |
17 | 17 | a result of the leak. | |
18 | 18 | (b) The regulatory authority may adopt rules necessary to | |
19 | 19 | implement this section. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
