| 7 | 13 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 8 | 14 | SECTION 1. Section 521.145(b), Transportation Code, is | |
| 9 | 15 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 10 | 16 | (b) The department shall provide the applicant and the | |
| 11 | 17 | cosigner with information concerning state laws relating to | |
| 12 | 18 | distracted driving, driving while intoxicated, driving by a minor | |
| 13 | 19 | with alcohol in the minor's system, and implied consent. The | |
| 14 | 20 | applicant and cosigner must acknowledge receipt of this | |
| 15 | 21 | information. | |
| 16 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | |
