66 AN ACT
77 relating to the composition of the board of directors of the Gateway
88 Groundwater Conservation District.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 8839.051(a), Special District Local Laws
1111 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (a) The district is governed by a board of not more than two
1313 directors for each county in the district [in the manner provided by
1414 Section 36.051, Water Code]. The board may change the total number
1515 of directors on the board if the district annexes territory.
1616 SECTION 2. (a) The legal notice of the intention to
1717 introduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of this
1818 Act, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and a
1919 copy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,
2020 officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnished
2121 under Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,
2222 Government Code.
2323 (b) The governor, one of the required recipients, has
2424 submitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission on
2525 Environmental Quality.
2626 (c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filed
2727 its recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, the
2828 lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house of
2929 representatives within the required time.
3030 (d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of this
3131 state and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respect
3232 to the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilled
3333 and accomplished.
3434 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3535 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3636 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3737 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3838 Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
