| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 341, Health and Safety | |
| 11 | 11 | Code, is amended by adding Section 341.0615 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 341.0615. DIAPER CHANGING STATIONS. A person who | |
| 13 | 13 | engages in or contracts for the construction or renovation of any | |
| 14 | 14 | building owned, operated, or managed by the person that has one or | |
| 15 | 15 | more restrooms accessible to the public shall provide a diaper | |
| 16 | 16 | changing station in at least one restroom designated for each | |
| 17 | 17 | gender or, if applicable, in at least one restroom not designated by | |
| 18 | 18 | gender. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 20 | 20 | to the construction or renovation of a building with restrooms | |
| 21 | 21 | accessible to the public that begins on or after the effective date | |
| 22 | 22 | of this Act. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
