| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 2001.002(24), Occupations Code, is | |
| 10 | 10 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (24) "Pull-tab bingo" means a form of bingo played | |
| 12 | 12 | using tickets [with perforated break-open tabs,] made of paper or | |
| 13 | 13 | paper products that are folded, banded, and glued together or that | |
| 14 | 14 | are manufactured with perforated break-open tabs, the faces [face] | |
| 15 | 15 | of which are [is covered or otherwise] hidden from view to conceal | |
| 16 | 16 | numbers, letters, or symbols, and some of which have been | |
| 17 | 17 | designated in advance as prize winners. The term includes games | |
| 18 | 18 | commonly known as "instant bingo" and "break-open bingo." | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
