55 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
66 RESOLVED, That the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas
77 hereby create the Complete Count Census Committee to study,
88 develop, and recommend strategies to encourage full participation
99 of this state's residents in the 2020 federal decennial census;
1010 and, be it further
1111 RESOLVED, That the committee collaborate with appropriate
1212 state agencies and political subdivisions for the purpose of this
1313 study; and, be it further
1414 RESOLVED, That the committee be composed of the following
1515 members:
1616 (1) three persons appointed by the lieutenant
1717 governor;
1818 (2) three persons appointed by the speaker of the
1919 house of representatives; and
2020 (3) one person appointed by the governor, who serves
2121 as the chair of the committee; and, be it further
2222 RESOLVED, That the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the
2323 house of representatives, and the governor appoint members of the
2424 committee as soon as practicable after the effective date of this
2525 resolution; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That a member of the committee may be reimbursed
2727 for actual and necessary expenses incurred in performing committee
2828 duties, and that the committee be authorized to accept gifts,
2929 grants, and donations to pay for those expenses; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That the committee meet not later than the 30th day
3131 after the date initial appointments are made and meet regularly as
3232 necessary at the call of the chair; and, be it further
3333 RESOLVED, That the committee submit a written report to the
3434 legislature with its findings and recommendations not later than
3535 October 31, 2019, and that the committee be abolished on September
3636 1, 2020.
