44 A JOINT RESOLUTION
55 proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing certain judges to

88 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 65(a), Article XVI, Texas Constitution,
1010 is amended to read as follows:
1111 (a) This section applies to the following offices: District
1212 Clerks; County Clerks; County Judges; [Judges of the County Courts
1313 at Law, County Criminal Courts, County Probate Courts and County
1414 Domestic Relations Courts]; County Treasurers; Criminal District
1515 Attorneys; County Surveyors; County Commissioners; Justices of the
1616 Peace; Sheriffs; Assessors and Collectors of Taxes; District
1717 Attorneys; County Attorneys; Public Weighers; and Constables.
1818 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1919 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019.
2020 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2121 proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing certain
2222 judges to become a candidate for another office without
2323 automatically resigning from the office already held."
