R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, With her arrival on January 1, Ava Marie Spikes
earned the distinction of becoming the first baby born in Jasper in
2019; and
WHEREAS, This bundle of joy weighed 3 pounds, 11 ounces, and
measured 17 inches in length when she made her debut at 9:34 p.m. on
New Year's Day; and
WHEREAS, Ava's birth has brought great happiness not only to
her mother, Alyssa Franklin, but also to her grandparents,
Charlesetta Malone and Marcus Franklin, and to her
great-grandparents, Dortha Samuel and Lovie Franklin; the town
joined Ava's family in celebrating this noteworthy birth, and many
Jasper businesses have showered her with gifts; and
WHEREAS, Ava begins her life sheltered in the warm embrace of
a wonderful family, and with their love, support, and guidance, she
may truly look forward to a bright and promising future; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Alyssa Franklin on the birth of her
daughter and welcome Ava Marie Spikes as a new citizen of Texas;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
