| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Delridge Williams of Dallas received the 2019 |

| 6 | 7 | | Outstanding Texan Award for House District 111 from the Texas |

| 7 | 8 | | Legislative Black Caucus on February 25; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has served with the Dallas Fire-Rescue |

| 9 | 10 | | Department since 1999; he began his tenure with the agency as a |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | firefighter and paramedic and steadily rose through the ranks to |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | become a battalion chief; over the years, he has held a number of |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | leadership roles, including supervisor, trainer, and quality |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | improvement officer, as well as captain of the recruiting |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | department, where he was instrumental in expanding the diversity of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | incoming recruit classes; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Prior to his career with the fire department, |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Mr. Williams served for three years with the U.S. Army as an |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | avionics technician for the Apache helicopter, and he worked for |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Texas Instruments and Raytheon Company; he graduated summa cum |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | laude from Midwestern State University, and he also holds a |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | master's degree in public administration from The University of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Texas at Arlington; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has further demonstrated his |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | commitment to his community through volunteer efforts with Big |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Brothers Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity; moreover, he is a |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and has led the Pride of |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge in Dallas; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Citizens benefit each day from the contributions of |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | those civic leaders who improve the quality of life in their |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | communities, and House District 111 is indeed fortunate to have |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | passionate and engaged residents like Delridge Williams; now, |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |
