45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
67 of Don Sewell of Nocona, who passed away on July 11, 2018, at the age
78 of 84; and
89 WHEREAS, Don Sewell was born in Nocona on November 28, 1933,
910 to Lee and Mary Jo Sewell; he was joined in matrimony to the love of
1011 his life, Mildred McCord, and he took great pride in their three
1112 children, Karen, Janna, and Sanda; over the years, Don and "Mackie"
1213 Sewell were further blessed with three sons-in-law, Chuck Johnson,
1314 Larry Fenoglio, and Donnie Fenoglio, and 10 grandchildren, Denise
1415 Coffman, Brandon Johnson, Jade Bennett, Brady, Chance, Tanner,
1516 Trevor, Tate, and Magye Fenoglio, and the late Lane Fenoglio; and
1617 WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Sewell
1718 enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; after his military
1819 service, he returned to his hometown and became an active member of
1920 the Nocona Lions Club and Bethel Baptist Church, where he taught
2021 Sunday school, sang with the choir, and served as a deacon; in 1971,
2122 he was named as Nocona's Citizen of the Year; and
2223 WHEREAS, Don Sewell lived a rich and purposeful life devoted
2324 to his family, faith, and community, and he immeasurably enriched
2425 the lives of all who had the good fortune to share in his love and
2526 friendship; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Don Sewell and extend
2829 sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3132 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Don Sewell.
