5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, John G. Rouse is retiring as superintendent of the |

6 | 7 | | Rains County Independent School District in June 2019, concluding |
---|
7 | 8 | | 37 years of outstanding service in public education; and |
---|
8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rouse began his career as a coach and social |
---|
9 | 10 | | studies teacher with Garland ISD, and he went on to hold positions |
---|
10 | 11 | | with the Richardson and Carrollton-Farmers Branch school |
---|
11 | 12 | | districts; in 1991, he joined Crandall ISD, where, over the course |
---|
12 | 13 | | of a 14-year tenure, he served as a varsity football, track, and |
---|
13 | 14 | | baseball coach, social studies teacher, assistant high school |
---|
14 | 15 | | principal, and intermediate campus principal; he briefly returned |
---|
15 | 16 | | to work with the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school district before |
---|
16 | 17 | | transferring to Kaufman ISD to serve as a high school principal and |
---|
17 | 18 | | assistant superintendent and then to Jarrell ISD to serve as |
---|
18 | 19 | | superintendent; and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the Rains County school district in |
---|
20 | 21 | | 2012, Mr. Rouse has worked tirelessly to foster a supportive and |
---|
21 | 22 | | challenging educational environment for area students, and he has |
---|
22 | 23 | | earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues along the way; |
---|
23 | 24 | | and |

24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his duties as an administrator, |
---|
25 | 26 | | Mr. Rouse has contributed to his professional community as a member |
---|
26 | 27 | | of the Texas Association of Rural Schools Board of Directors, the |
---|
27 | 28 | | UIL Executive Committee and Legislative Council, the membership |
---|
28 | 29 | | committee of the American Football Coaches Association, and the |
---|
29 | 30 | | Region 7 Education Service Center Executive Board; and |
---|
30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Rouse holds a bachelor's degree from East Texas |
---|
31 | 32 | | State University-Commerce and a master's degree in education from |
---|
32 | 33 | | Texas A&M University-Commerce; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed |
---|
33 | 34 | | the love and support of his wife, Janice, and his children, John and |
---|
34 | 35 | | Jill; and |
---|
35 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of nearly four decades, John Rouse |
---|
36 | 37 | | has helped countless young Texans acquire the knowledge and skills |
---|
37 | 38 | | necessary to succeed, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a |
---|
38 | 39 | | career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his |

39 | 40 | | life; now, therefore, be it |

40 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

41 | 42 | | Legislature hereby congratulate John G. Rouse on his retirement as |

42 | 43 | | superintendent of the Rains County Independent School District and |
---|
43 | 44 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

44 | 45 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
