| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Soren Ettinger DeCou has ably served her fellow |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. DeCou has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |

| 10 | 11 | | including drafting hearing requests, corresponding with |

| 11 | 12 | | constituents, and attending lobbying and advocacy meetings; in |

| 12 | 13 | | addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |

| 13 | 14 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. DeCou is the daughter of Jessica DeCou and |

| 16 | 17 | | Nicholas and Rivka Ettinger, and she is a freshman biomedical |

| 17 | 18 | | engineering major in the Plan II Honors Program at The University of |

| 18 | 19 | | Texas at Austin; a Forty Acres Scholar, she is actively involved |

| 19 | 20 | | with the Senate of College Councils and Reading Aces, a literacy |

| 20 | 21 | | service organization; following her graduation, she plans to pursue |

| 21 | 22 | | a career in STEM policy and foreign affairs; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 23 | 24 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 24 | 25 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
