| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas can trace its |

| 10 | 11 | | origins back to 1989, when the state's first children's advocacy |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | center, The Bridge, was established in Amarillo; this pioneering |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | organization joined with 12 other local centers in 1994 to form |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | CACTX, which now has a membership of more than 70 children's |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | advocacy centers throughout the state; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, CACTX provides a wide variety of assistance for |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | local centers, including training, technical support, and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | evaluation services; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The CACTX member centers serve some 58,000 children |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | each year by working closely with multidisciplinary teams that |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | include law enforcement and the Department of Family and Protective |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Services to coordinate joint investigations of child abuse and to |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | help child victims receive the services they need to heal; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, Children's Advocacy Centers of |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Texas has worked tirelessly to protect the state's most vulnerable |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | population, and it is indeed deserving of recognition for its |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | contributions to the well-being of countless young Texans and their |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | families; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby recognize January 29, 2019, as Children's |

| 30 | 31 | | Advocacy Centers of Texas Day at the State Capitol and commend the |
