H.R. No. 1181 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Texas Agricultural Land Trust has been reaccredited by the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission, and this achievement truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, An independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission works to evaluate a network of more than 420 accredited land trusts across the nation, foster public confidence in land conservation, and promote the long-term protection of land; and WHEREAS, Established in 2007, the Texas Agricultural Land Trust works with landowners across the Lone Star State to conserve nearly 227,000 acres of working lands and vast open spaces, helping to ensure that these farms, ranches, wetlands, wildlife habitats, forests, watersheds, coastlands, and river corridors will be available to future generations; and WHEREAS, The Texas Agricultural Land Trust underwent a yearlong review to win this prestigious accreditation, with staff providing extensive documentation for a comprehensive third-party evaluation of the land trust's governance, finances, ethical standards, and stewardship; and WHEREAS, Through its successful completion of this rigorous process, the Texas Agricultural Land Trust has demonstrated itself worthy of the trust of landowners as they work together to preserve and protect the outdoor spaces of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Texas Agricultural Land Trust on its reaccreditation by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission and extend to all those associated with the trust sincere best wishes for continued success with their important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Texas Agricultural Land Trust as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
